Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

I’ve put together some examples on Pinterest for clients to view and get ideas from (Link at bottom of page) , but here are some helpful tips to avoid stress!

Prepare your outfits 2 weeks in advance. If you need a new outfit now is the time to get it!

Womens/girls hair should be done appropriately. Brushed and done for the occasion. Please make sure you have plenty of time to do your hair before your photoshoot and bring a comb, pins and hair spray with you in case it needs to be touched up.

If you choose to do your make-up before please allow yourself enough time to get to your session on time! Bring any lipstick or cover up that might need touching up with you.

Men/boys hair should be clean and combed. Unless it is a specific shoot with a helmet, cowboy hat, sports hat or dress up hat please take off the ball cap or sports drink hat!

Your shoes should be appropriate for the occasion. Dressing up in a suit or fabulous dress will pale in comparison to your neon pink running shoes. So, unless it is a sports shoot please wear formal shoes! Bring a back up pair of comfortable shoes just in case.

Please dress appropriately for your shoot, dress your best and leave enough time to be on time for you shoot.

What happens if we get rained out?

I keep a number of backup dates open each month in case of bad weather, and there is no fee to reschedule to a new date due to weather limitations.

Can I bring along a friend or family member?

Sure! I love it when my clients bring along a “laugh buddy,” and it’s always fun to grab an extra photo of the two of you together! I welcome any communication before the session so that I can keep special requests in mind as we’re shooting.

What is the typical turn around time?

(For a regular session) Final image delivery takes two weeks from the date of your session. If needed, sometimes I’m able to accommodate shorter timelines — just ask and we’ll see what we can do!

Prints Take up to 4 weeks from pick date (the date that you pick out your favorites).

(For weddings) delivery takes up to 12 weeks. Prints are 2 weeks after pick date.

Are the digital files edited or retouched?

For both wedding and regular sessions, every proof in your gallery is color-corrected and edited at no additional charge. Common fixes included but are not limited to: flyaway hairs, skin smoothing and blemish removal, escaping bra straps, etc.

Do you deliver every photo you shoot?

For a regular photoshoot I generally shoot at least 10 times the amount of photos guaranteed for your session in order to make sure that we end up with great photos! Then I pick and edit the very best ones and put them into a gallery.  Then at your gallery viewing you pick the ones you like and we order prints!

For weddings I do not limit the amount of photos you receive. However, I do remove any duplicates or ones that missed the mark. I hate it when photographers limit the amount of photos someone receives from their wedding so I don't limit!

Am I allowed to use the photos on social media?

YES! After putting so much energy into creating these images together, I hope that you’ll get as much use out of them as possible. I do appreciate you using a photo that has my logo on it or tagging my facebook page though. Also, no filters or changes may be applied to the photos when posting.

Do you have a studio?

I DO! Mostly used for my boudoir sessions.

Can you keep my images private?

All clients sign a contract that includes a model release. If you would prefer to keep your images private, you may indicate your request at that time. For clients who choose to decline the model release, I absolutely respect your decision and will keep your images under lock and key.

Do I get the copyright to the images?

Copyright is something that I get asked about often. Many photographers include a “copyright release” in their contracts, which generally just means the same as a release to have your images printed by yourself, or any lab you choose. That’s not the same as “obtaining the copyright.” Copyright simply means that I am the creator of the images, and I “own” the copyright, but you will have the opportunity to purchase the print release to print and share your images if your choose to add those options to your package.

Ok, I'm ready to book! What next?

I can’t wait to work with you! Please send me a message, and we’ll come up with a time to meet or chat over the phone. We will then get your contract signed and submit your session deposit. A non-refundable $100.00 fee is due upon booking a regular session to reserve your date, and the remainder is due on the day of your session. For weddings $250 is due at the signing of your contract. Then the remainder can be split into several payments before the wedding.
